In between 4th of Julys, finding products with American symbolic turns into a real scavenger hunt: I have to deploy all of my creativity to the task!

A souvenir shop sales lady, speaking with a heavy accent, tries to do her best, suggesting us such extravagant items like… socks. My husband chuckles: “Hmm… we come to the airport to welcome new comers on American soil & start waving… socks…” ))

Once, I found a huge towel with both American & California flags & huge letters “C A L I F O R N I A”: that thing could wave! No such luck this time though :-/

Suddenly, I recall a sign “U S A” that I’ve glanced over when I entered this shop. I beeline back to it & sure enough, here is my prize: a large grocery bag! Mission completed!
